A coalition of 250+ organizations campaigning to ensure that everyone on the planet has reliable electricity before 2030. Join us! #EndEnergyPovertyFaster

Our Call to Action

Despite growing demand for home solar, mini-grids and productive use appliances across Sub-Saharan Africa and Asia, there is a widening shortage of job-ready workers who can develop, install, operate and service distributed solutions for homes and businesses. Closing this gap, with skills and jobs training at the center of global energy access efforts, will determine our success or failure in deploying distributed solutions at levels that are needed. We cannot achieve energy for all without a labor force to support it.

The #PoweringJobs campaign, by Power for All and a coalition of partners, is excited to kick off the "SDG7@Work" profile series during the Global Week to Act for SDGs, using portrait photos to spotlight and celebrate the amazing people working to make universal electricity access possible. We want to give a human face to energy access employment in order to reinforce with governments and their donors that delivering electricity access creates better livelihoods, thus contributing significantly to SDG8 (Decent Work) and to economic development. If your employees (full- or part-time) have interesting stories that you would like to feature, send an email to poweringjobs@powerforall.org with the Subject line: SDG7@Work, or send Power for All a private message via our Twitter account. Please include up to three photos of the employee, entrepreneur, worker and a short bio (50 words or less) that includes their name, title, country, and a description of what makes them special. (A release form can be found here). #PoweringJobs is especially interested in featuring women and youth. Power for All and its partners will regularly share new "SDG7@Work" spotlight portraits during the Global Week to #Act4SDGs to tens of thousands of followers across various media channels, including Instagram,Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn. And don't forget the hashtag: #PoweringJobs #Act4SDGs
