Name: Nature Conservation Advocates for Climate Initiative (NCACI)
where we operate
we are operating in Nigeria
Area of Work:
mobilizing young people to advocate for natural climate solutions to climate change.
Raising of seedling for woodlot and plantation: as an alternative source of biomass to the community and to convert deforestation, erosion and poor landscaping to sink our community carbon, thereby reducing the community’s carbon footprint to minimal
Farmer's field school: where we educate and teach the community farmers on new modern farming techniques about;
A. Soil conservation
B. On-farm fertilization
C. Early farming, use of improving seedling, provision of a water source to ease farming activities, so as to adapt to the changes as a result of climate propositioning.
To mobilize Nigerian youth to advocate for political leaders to deliver up to 30% of climate solutions needed by 2030 through nature-based solutions.
To elevate the voices of youth by providing a platform to share their stories and have them be heard.
promote action that will protect the dry-lands to secure the long-term ability of drylands to provide value for humanity's well being.
As the right to a safe and protected environment and the commitment to a sustainable future is enshrined also in the Nigerian Constitution. While many communities in Nigeria are also increasingly feeling the effects of climate change, civil society engagement in environmental governance remains limited, since we share the same Idea on the need for our leaders to take the necessary action needed for sustainable environment and the future we want.
