Extracurricular activity – Citizenship education
Participants: pupils, age 9 and 10 (3rd and 4th grade)
Activities for promoting European sustainable development week:
1. Definition of sustainable development (What does it mean?)
2. Photographing polluted, unclean and clean schoolyard environment
3. Cleaning the schoolyard surrounding
4. Creating eco slogans
5. Making wooden signs with written eco slogans in order to improve public awareness in the schoolyard surrounding regarding climate change and sustainable development
6. Installing the signs in our schoolyard
About II. osnovna škola Varaždin
Our school is situated in the north-west part of Croatia, Varaždin. We are trying to educate active and conscious citizens. School offers many extracurricular activities. Therefore, all pupils have chance to participate in activities which they find interesting, regardless of social status.
